Not voting
Hello readers. I am not sure about other people in America but I have a hard time understanding why people do not vote. We are a free society and one of the primary cornerstones of our society is that we each have the ability to be heard through our vote. It is very ironic that many of the people who do not vote are the very same people who will complain about our leadership. Regardless of which party you may be in, or if you are independant, you need to vote. I hope that if your primary has already been held that you made it to the poll and cast your ballot. If your primary is yet to be held, please take the time and vote. An most importantly, in the future elections, go vote!

Politicians disrepect for each other
Hello readers. I find it very interesting how our politicians can consistently trash each other, and neither of the heads of our two headed political monster are exempt. Currently it is mostly the Democrats who are leading the way with trash talk, with the two wannabe presidents setting the example for the rest. Hillary Clinton and Obama Barrack are two of the worst examples for how to behave and speak with respect that I have ever seen. They are both trashing the other but at the same time hope to have others vote for them, what type of leadership is that? Our leaders should set the example by contolling their tongue. Both of these two people, as well as all other American leaders, need to lift up each other rather than continuing to tear each other down. How much better would our nation be if the politicians worked together rather than working against each other. Just my thought.

Typical White Person comment from Obama
Hello readers. I find it very interesting that the national media is not all over NObama for his comment, "she is a typical white person" If a white person were to say "typical black person" the media, along with the two wanna be reverands Jackson and Sharpton, would be all over that person. Talk about a bullshit double standard. I am a white male and I am fed up with the crap that continues to get dumped on us from the government, the media, and the corporate America. Our nation needs leaders who are strong, honest, and have high ethical standards. Obama obviously does not have what it takes to be a good leader because he is a racist pig who is hiding behind his double standards.

Working relationships
Hello readers. Today many of us have very complex lives, juggling home, school, kids, work, etc. Some of our relationships at work we need to keep in the context of these people really do not matter to us in the scheme of our lives. Yes we have to work for them, with them, or around them, but we should not allow them to influence the way we act to the point of us not being the person that we really are.
A few months back a new person came into my work group and that person has been nothing but a pain in my neck to the point that I am constantly complaining about his bs. I am making a vow to you guys, my readers, that going forward I will not complain about this person period. I will do what I have to do to get my work completed but I will not allow this person to pull me down to his level and act towards others the way that he does.
I guess that it goes back to remembering what my mom taught me when I was a young boy, "If you can't say something nice about someone do not say anything at all!"

Politician's Promises
Hello readers. Here is another good reason not to promise the world that you are going to be the best. The New York governor promised to end corruption but at the same time this guy was going to a high priced prostitute. Good moral compass there gov. Don't let the door hit you on the way out of the mansion. Here are two links to the story. One from Fox News and one from the New York Daily News. I do not have a problem with someone going to a prostitute although I would not. I have a problem with someone putting themselves up as judge, jury, and executioner of others and then covering up his own dirty laundry. This guy is worse than the guys whom he prosecuted because not only is he committed a crime but he is a liar.

Reduction in food exports from the US to other countries.
Hello readers. Here is an interesting article that I came across today. I guess that the high price that we are paying other countries for fuel is finally catching up with our ability to send them cheap food. Maybe if we continue to cut back on food maybe the countries that are ripping us off for fuel and taking our jobs will start to level the playing field by reducing their prices for fuel. Don't hold your breath for that to happen. But in the mean time we have to do what we have to do.

Politicians
Hello again readers. Our politicians are once again proving themselves to be a bunch of backbiters and mudslingers. We desperately need a valid 3rd party in our nation. Our current two party system is not two monsters but merely one monster with two heads. Each blames the other for the problems of our country but neither will do anything to correct the problem. We need to stop sending so much money to other nations while our country's finances are in such a shamble.
The democrats blame the president for the war, but many of them voted to send our troops over to Iraq. The media does not provide a fair picture of the situation in Iraq. We hear and read of all of the deaths of our troops but we do not get reports of the good things that our men and women overthere are doing. We know that our entrance into Iraq and Afganistan did not follow a good tactical plan however now the media will not cover the war fully because right now we are winning. Here is a link that will provide information on many of the good things that are going on over there right now...http://www.mnf-iraq.com/
Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Independant, or whatever, we have to support our military and urge our government to allow the military to win. We can not allow people who want to use the war for their own means which costs our troops their lives. Our government needs to develop a valid exit strategy to bring our troops home. BOTH - Bring Our Troops Home!

Two Party System of Government
Hello again. I am not sure about everyone else but I personally believe that our system of government, although much better than the rest, still has some major problems that need to be addressed. One way is to have a major third party. Everyone is complaining about how bad the Republican government is under Bush however they fail to realize that the Democrats are in control of the Congress. The present housing problem that our nation has was caused by allowing people who could not afford to buy a home loans that they could not repay and now the same liberal politicians want to give people a break by punishing banks and not allowing them to foreclose. How about politicians doing what they say they are going to do rather than a bunch of mindless chatter and crying for the camera's. Both of our present parties are partners in the budget deficit, it would not have occured if both parties did not agree to the spending. If any of our minor third parties could garner enough support from disenchanted members of the democratic and republican parties then maybe we could turn our government around. We need to stop sending billions upon billions of dollars overseas when New Orleans is not even rebuilt. The New Orleans police department was finally able to move out of trailers and back into their headquarters building this past week. Stop illegal immigration, put up a double fence with a no man's land between them, increase the Border Patrol, support the Border Patrol with our troops that we need to bring home from Iraq and Afganistan. Spend American money on America first. We have catostrophes in this nation all of the time and I can not recall billions of dollars being sent here by any other country. It is time for the political machine to get it right and put America first, they need to do their job by keeping American manufacturing jobs in the US, stop illegal drugs through tougher border security, impose tariffs on imports from countries that have import deficits from the US to allow US companies to compete with cheap foreign labor. Force US companies that want to send our jobs overseas to pay high tariffs to import their products back into the US to try to sell them to the very people that they have laid off in the name of profits for the top brass. Enough for tonight.

United States Economic Policy
The economic policy of the United States is in need of complete overhaul. Some of our politicians state that they would change one part or another of our economic policy, such as reducing taxes or changing Social Security. What we really need to do is to make sweeping changes in the fundamental ways that our government is allowed to spend finances. Here are some key elements of finance that our government needs to understand.
- Do not spend more than you make.
- Do not buy on credit what you can pay cash for.
- Save at least 10% of what you make.
The government had a budget suplus of $235.2 billion in 2000. Now in '08 we have a $8,919 trillion dollar deficit. That is $47,000 per every adult in the US.
Action plan to reduce the deficit starting in 2008.
- Cut out all foreign aid (Yes, I can hear those who say that we need to support Israel and Pakistan already).
- Cut social security for all illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants are taking money away from citizens who have earned them.
- Cut welfare for all illegal immigrants. They did not earn the benefit so do not give it to them.
- End the policy of automatic citizenship if you are born in the United States. Illegal immigrants who come here to have their children born here should not be rewarded for breaking our laws.
- Bring our military home, close all bases and sell them back to the countries where they are located.
- Increase national oil production.
- Secure our borders and ship all illegal immigrants across the border to Mexico.
- Withdraw from NAFTA. Save our jobs rather than having them go out of the country and the big businesses keep their profits when they try to resell their products to those people who have since lost their jobs to the foreign workers.

Media coverage of Political Races
Does anyone else find it interesting that the major media outlets originally predicted that Hillary would sweep the competition away only to have her beaten by Obama in Iowa. After Iowa the media made predictions that Obama would win in NH and now they are saying that Hillary beat Obama in a strong and suprising victory in NH. I guess that you can spin it any way you want when it benefits you.

Illegal Immigration
The current situation along the US's southern border is not being addressed as it should be by our government. The United States is being invaded by illegal immigrants and the US government's solution is to offer amnesty. There are many of the immigrants who I am sure are only seeking to better their lot in life by coming to the US, but the problem is that there are so many who are clearly not interested in assimilating to our culture but only seeking to import illegal drugs, commit crimes, or in some way milk our liberal economic policies to put money in their pocket that they have no right to. The US prison system currently holds thousands of illegal immigrants for drug charges, robbery, rape, murder, etc., etc., and our politicians still can not see that the only effective answer is to close the border and ship all illegal immigrants back across to Mexico. Here are a few articles that highlight some of the problems of the open border and our politicians...

Hot Buttons
Hello all. Welcome to my new blog. "Hot Buttons" blog is here to present an open forum. I have very few hot buttons, although political correctness, infringing upon individual rights by the local, state, and federal government, and having the UN in the US are a few of the ones that I do have.
I do not agree with following a certain mindset, agenda, or political decisions simply because of what other people believe to be right. I do believe in absolutes, there are boundaries for how people should act and for right and wrong.
I also believe in personal freedoms, especially in the right to keep and bear arms as provided by the Second Amendment of the US Constitution.
