United States Economic Policy
The economic policy of the United States is in need of complete overhaul. Some of our politicians state that they would change one part or another of our economic policy, such as reducing taxes or changing Social Security. What we really need to do is to make sweeping changes in the fundamental ways that our government is allowed to spend finances. Here are some key elements of finance that our government needs to understand.
- Do not spend more than you make.
- Do not buy on credit what you can pay cash for.
- Save at least 10% of what you make.
The government had a budget suplus of $235.2 billion in 2000. Now in '08 we have a $8,919 trillion dollar deficit. That is $47,000 per every adult in the US.
Action plan to reduce the deficit starting in 2008.
- Cut out all foreign aid (Yes, I can hear those who say that we need to support Israel and Pakistan already).
- Cut social security for all illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants are taking money away from citizens who have earned them.
- Cut welfare for all illegal immigrants. They did not earn the benefit so do not give it to them.
- End the policy of automatic citizenship if you are born in the United States. Illegal immigrants who come here to have their children born here should not be rewarded for breaking our laws.
- Bring our military home, close all bases and sell them back to the countries where they are located.
- Increase national oil production.
- Secure our borders and ship all illegal immigrants across the border to Mexico.
- Withdraw from NAFTA. Save our jobs rather than having them go out of the country and the big businesses keep their profits when they try to resell their products to those people who have since lost their jobs to the foreign workers.

Media coverage of Political Races
Does anyone else find it interesting that the major media outlets originally predicted that Hillary would sweep the competition away only to have her beaten by Obama in Iowa. After Iowa the media made predictions that Obama would win in NH and now they are saying that Hillary beat Obama in a strong and suprising victory in NH. I guess that you can spin it any way you want when it benefits you.

Illegal Immigration
The current situation along the US's southern border is not being addressed as it should be by our government. The United States is being invaded by illegal immigrants and the US government's solution is to offer amnesty. There are many of the immigrants who I am sure are only seeking to better their lot in life by coming to the US, but the problem is that there are so many who are clearly not interested in assimilating to our culture but only seeking to import illegal drugs, commit crimes, or in some way milk our liberal economic policies to put money in their pocket that they have no right to. The US prison system currently holds thousands of illegal immigrants for drug charges, robbery, rape, murder, etc., etc., and our politicians still can not see that the only effective answer is to close the border and ship all illegal immigrants back across to Mexico. Here are a few articles that highlight some of the problems of the open border and our politicians...

Hot Buttons
Hello all. Welcome to my new blog. "Hot Buttons" blog is here to present an open forum. I have very few hot buttons, although political correctness, infringing upon individual rights by the local, state, and federal government, and having the UN in the US are a few of the ones that I do have.
I do not agree with following a certain mindset, agenda, or political decisions simply because of what other people believe to be right. I do believe in absolutes, there are boundaries for how people should act and for right and wrong.
I also believe in personal freedoms, especially in the right to keep and bear arms as provided by the Second Amendment of the US Constitution.
