Working relationships

Hello readers. Today many of us have very complex lives, juggling home, school, kids, work, etc. Some of our relationships at work we need to keep in the context of these people really do not matter to us in the scheme of our lives. Yes we have to work for them, with them, or around them, but we should not allow them to influence the way we act to the point of us not being the person that we really are.
A few months back a new person came into my work group and that person has been nothing but a pain in my neck to the point that I am constantly complaining about his bs. I am making a vow to you guys, my readers, that going forward I will not complain about this person period. I will do what I have to do to get my work completed but I will not allow this person to pull me down to his level and act towards others the way that he does.
I guess that it goes back to remembering what my mom taught me when I was a young boy, "If you can't say something nice about someone do not say anything at all!"
